SXSW is going quite well, and I've gotten to see a lot of old friends who've stopped by the booth or whom I've run into.

But you guys.

I'm so tired.

(How tired are you?)

I put a load of wash in last night, put it in the dryer...and forgot to turn the dryer on.

Fail.

I can't believe I did that. Sigh.

In my previous post, I linked to the Dragon*Con shenanigans.

The thing that I kept seeing in a lot of the comments were sentence fragments like, "I wasn't even showing much skin" or "I was totally covered" or "I had been wearing a far skimpier costume earlier..."

WHAT YOU WEAR DOES NOT EXCUSE SHITBAGGERY DIRECTED AT YOU BY OTHER HUMANS.

It's Dragon*Con! You're there to wear skin-tight spandex and run around like you're Power Girl. Or wear a corset and bustle and be a Steampunk explorer.

OR WHATEVER.

What you wear, no matter how skimpy, no matter how much alcohol you or others drink, does not give a single solitary person the right to touch, grab, or even talk to you if you don't want to deal with them.

By all means, please, please report incidents of harassment, but can the meme of what you were wearing at the time die?

So the amazing, beautiful, and talented [livejournal.com profile] bassringer needs some help for San Diego Comic Con this July...

In which our heroine prostrates herself before San Diego Con-goers

Soooo I dropped the ball on San Diego this year.
[Ed. note: I blame the Canadian Post.]My submission arrived one (business) day past the due date (thanks a bunch, Xpresspost) so no table for me. This is a long shot, but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained, eh?

Do any of you con-goers know of anyone who might want to share a table? Maybe someone who's worried about expenses and would like to shoulder off 3/4 of their table fee in exchange for 1/2 their space? My failings - mathematical and otherwise - can be your gain!

I kept trying to look on the bright side of not going (more time/energy for smaller local cons, less sweatshop disaster in my house) but if there's a way I can still manage to squeeze in that'd be way better.

3/4 chip-in is based on small press prices, but if there's a regular booth to be shared, well, I'm a featherweight negotiator. Offer may or may not include a tiny tiny dog.

I can personally vouch to the EXTREME LEVELS OF AWESOME contained in [livejournal.com profile] bassringer.

Also, she makes cute hats. And is pretty darn cute herself.

Several weeks ago, Valerie D'Orazio, the Occasional Superheroine herself, emailed me offering me an exciting position with Friends of Lulu.

I am pleased to announce that I am now the Convention Director for Friends of Lulu!

For those of you not familiar with it, Friends of Lulu is a national nonprofit organization whose purpose is to promote and encourage female readership and participation in the comic book industry.

I am thrilled to have been asked to work with such a fantastic organization.

Expect to see me at the FoL table at a convention near you!
