In 2010, I slept...

In my apartment in Brooklyn
At my father's in Manhattan
On Hilary's nap-sucking couch in Brooklyn
In a hotel in Los Angeles
At Josh's in Plano
On many airplanes
In a Holiday Inn in Knoxville, TN
In my car
In my tent at Pennsic
In my apartment in Austin
In a hotel in Austin
In a hotel in San Francisco
At Josh's mom's in New Jersey
At Hilary's parents' house in Oklahoma

As I've gotten older, I've found I really can't stand this play. I still really love the prologue, though...

Prologue to Romeo and Juliet

Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whole misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their parents' strife.
The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,
And the continuance of their parents' rage,
Which, but their children's end, nought could remove,
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.

[livejournal.com profile] thetreacletart (for me, via [livejournal.com profile] coyotegoth has some interesting questions about the Harry Potter series, particularly Book 7; I repost the questions with permission. (Please note that there will be Deathly Hallows spoilers in the comment chain, and behind the LJ cut.)

1 - What inconsistencies have you found over the course of seven books?

2- Are there any questions JK left unanswered that really irked you?

3 - Were you satisfied with the ending?

4- Which book did you like most? The least? Any particular reason?

5 - Favorite/Least Favorite character from book one? By book seven did that change?

6- Which character death bothered you the most?

My answers. )

This is a list of the 50 most significant science fiction/fantasy novels, 1953-2002, according to the Science Fiction Book Club. Bold the ones you've read, strike-out the ones you hated, italicize those you started but never finished, and put an asterisk* beside the ones you loved.

Onto the list! )
